In April this year, China exported over 12500 tons of fruit and vegetable products to Russia through the Baikalsk Port
Moscow, May 6 (Xinhua) – The Russian Animal and Plant Inspection and Quarantine Bureau announced that in April 2023, China supplied 12836 tons of fruits and vegetables to Russia through the Baikalsk International Motor Port.
The Inspection and Quarantine Bureau pointed out that 10272 tons of fresh vegetables accounted for 80% of the total. Compared to April 2022, the number of fresh vegetables transported from China to Russia through the Baikalsk Port has doubled.
In April 2023, the quantity of fresh fruits supplied by China to Russia through the Baikalsk Port increased six times compared to April 2022, reaching 2312 tons, accounting for 18% of the fruit and vegetable supply. Other products are 252 tons, accounting for 2% of the supply.
It is reported that most products have successfully passed plant quarantine and meet the requirements of plant quarantine in the Russian Federation.
Since the beginning of 2023, Russia has imported approximately 52000 tons of fruits and vegetables from China through various ports of entry. Compared to the same period in 2022, the total import volume has doubled.
